Daniel M. Josephson is Of Counsel Attorney with Siddiqui Law, APC. His practice focuses on business litigation, labor & employment, intellectual property disputes, construction law, and entertainment law. Prior to joining Siddiqui Law, APC, he was a civil litigator concentrating in real estate and eminent domain matters. Mr. Josephson has made numerous appearances in various state and federal courts, successfully advocating for his clients' interests. Never one to be constrained by convention, Mr. Josephson attended the prestigious Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences before enrolling at West Los Angeles College in Culver City, California at the age of 16. At West Los Angeles College, he became the youngest Associated Students Organization President in the school's history and was elected as a Vice-Chair for the California Student Association of Community Colleges, a proving ground for many elected leaders currently serving the State of California. Mr. Josephson began his professional career as a writer & television producer, developing documentary and educational programs for Discovery Communications and Schlessinger Media, including "Vegas Challenge," "Vegas Cops" and "Life Science in Action." Mr. Josephson also spent considerable time on film production sets, including those of the legendary Director Blake Edwards. From there, Mr. Josephson worked with Creative Artists Agency, assisting in the packaging of film projects featuring prominent writers, directors and actors. Mr. Josephson received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree from Boston University, majoring in Psychology where he graduated summa cum laude, with distinction. While at Boston University, Mr. Josephson served in student government, where he co-founded the Abortion & Reproductive Rights Coalition and was awarded the prestigious Scarlet Key for Leadership. He also received the Saturn Award for Exceptional Accomplishment in Teamwork, and was recognized for his exceptional scholastic achievement in clinical mental health care, earning the celebrated Boston University Psychology Department Scholar Award following the publication of his thesis, "The Motion Picture as a Tool in Psychotherapy: A Survey of Psychotherapists." In addition to working as a television producer, Mr. Josephson has also been a mental health counselor in Boston, Massachusetts and San Diego, California, a customer service manager for a prominent Los Angeles-based graphic printing company, a proofreader and compositor of public company financial reports, a human resources manager, and an assistant in the Tax & Legal Services Departments of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he gained invaluable experience and exposure to the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (a U.S. federal law that set requirements for all U.S. public company boards, management & public accounting firms, including destruction of evidence to impede federal investigations). In each of these roles, Mr. Josephson developed a deep and enduring understanding of business operations, business development, labor & employment management, human resources and finance. Mr. Josephson started his legal career when he enrolled at the prestigious Chapman University School of Law. There, he was a finalist and member of the Appellate Moot Court Board, an Editor for the school's Nexus Law Journal, a Student Bar Association representative for three years, co-founder of the Entertainment & Sports Law Society and recipient of CALI Awards for the high grade in five courses. During law school, Mr. Josephson conducted research for Chapman University Law School's Center for Global Trade and Development and served as an intern at the Orange County Public Defender's Office where he defended the interests of indigent and mentally ill clients. Mr. Josephson has been a member of several professional and legal associations, including the Orange County Bar Association, the Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Mr. Josephson combines his multifaceted practice with a rare combination of impressive academic credentials and varied street smarts that continue to inform his zealous client advocacy each day. Among other accomplishments, he has defended, prosecuted and coordinated qui tam (class action-type) cases, prosecuted and defended intellectual property, copyright ©, and trademark ® actions, prosecuted and defended civil rights cases, defended legal malpractice claims, defended criminal defendants, prosecuted civil harassment claims, prepared numerous partnership, shareholder and joint venture agreements and financial instruments, and established and maintained corporation and limited liability company filings for a wide variety of individual and entity clients, across a broad range of industries. In addition to being an experienced state and federal court trial attorney, Mr. Josephson has presented before the California Gaming Commission, the Los Angeles Police Commission, the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, the California Labor Commissioner, and the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, among many other adjudicative and administrative bodies at various city, county, state, and federal levels.
